WHO SHOULD DO PILATES

 Pilates is for everyone, from young to old, sedentary to athletic.  It is for people who are strong or weak, flexible or inflexible.  It is for pregnant women, and those seeking rehabilitation from injuries, and often recommended by doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors.  It is adaptable and diverse with over 500 exercises to choose from allowing for modifications to increase or decrease challenge.  Pilates is used as a complete fitness program as well as a supplement to other methods of fitness.  It is a tool to educate the body to have better posture and move in a more efficient way.  Pilates is for those who want to look and feel better.  For those who strive to function at an optimal level pain free.  Pilates is for those who seek balance in life wanting to change their lives for the better by enhancing the mind while strengthening the body. Pilates is for anyone and everyone.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO PILATES

With any form of exercise, consistency is the key.  If you wanted to do Pilates every day, there is no harm in that.  We recommend 1-3 sessions per week along with something cardiovascular in between. 

WHAT ARE PILATES MAT CLASSES

Pilates mat classes center around the floor work developed by Joseph H. Pilates and range from beginner to advanced exercises.  Using the body’s own resistance,  a series of movements are are performed designed to improve circulation, breathing, posture, and body awareness.  Mat classes incorporate small equipment such as bands, fitness circles, arc barrels, foam rollers, stability balls, weights, bosu balance traniers etc.  Pilates mat classes are limited to 12 people.

WHAT ARE PILATES EQUIPMENT CLASSES

Pilates equipment is special because it allows clients the option of exercising in non-weight bearing, partial weight bearing or full weight bearing positions. (Lying down, sitting, and standing).  Exercises can be done upright, upside down, forward, or backward.  The equipment is so unique it accommodates many ranges of motion, which are essential to optimum human performance.  Pilates equipment includes the reformer, cadillac or trapeze table, stability chairs, and ladder barrels.  Pilates equipment classes are limited to 4 people.

STRENGTH & TONE

Achieve total body strengthening & toning using the Bosu, hand weights, and resistance ball. MAXIMIZE your fitness goals, WHILE HAVING FUN!!

PILATES BARRE

Focuses on toning and resistance exercises for the buns, legs, torso, and arms to sculpt muscles and elongatethe appearance of your body. Great for balance, coordination, and core strength development.

REBOUNDER MIX

A fun system of exercise combining the health benefits of rebounding with the core strengthening benefits of Pilates.  It’s a cardiovascular, fat burning workout that focuses on alignment, posture, and balance.  Rebound exercise strengthens your immune system, is 87% shock free, tones and supports the glandular system, increases lymphatic circulation, burns calories, increases balance, coordination, dexterity and endurance.  Our instructors are Cardiolates™ certified.

PILATES COMBO (1/2 HOUR MAT...1/2 EQUIPMENT) class limited to 4 (BARRE COMBO incorporates 1/2 hr standing barre work)

For those who enjoy the matwork and working on the reformer, cadillac, stability chairs, and barrels.  This class is a great balance that incorporates floor work & equipment work.  

CARDIO REFORMER

Cardio reformer is an interval class that combines cardio jumpboard/tramp (increasing heart rate and core strength) with arms, abs, extension, and rotation exercises. It combines the reformer exercises we all love with the added benefit of cardio training. 

EQUIPMENT GROUPS

Work out with up to 4 four people on the cadillac, reformer, stability chair, and/or ladder barrel.

CARDIO MIX

A combination class using the rebounder (mini trampoline) & bosu balance trainer. This class challenges balance, enhances flexibility, increases heart rate delivering a cardio work out that will boost your body's fat-burning capacity by speeding up your metabolis
